Cordoba Horizontes was created with the idea of a 21st century dedicated to sustainable development: business must adapt to the new conditions produced by the climate change.
Cordoba Horizontes is a group of specialists living in Andalusia and offering to enterprises and organizations their know-how in the sectors of agribusiness, trade and tourism on the Mediterranean area and at first the Maghreb.
Dr. Robert LANQUAR, CEO, is an international expert, former international civil servant.
He directed many projects of sustainable development in the Mediterranean and Africa.
His publications on tourism marketing make authority in Europe and are translated
in seven languages.
An international network for an effective promotion of Maghreb
These specialists developed during the last three decades a full network of contacts and business relations in North Africa from Mauritania to Libya.
In January 2008, we coordinated the 8º
FITUR Euro-Mediterranean Forum of Tourism on
the starting up of Libya: more than 100 professionals and journalists took part in the event.
Libya is the new borderline of Mediterranean tourism and its resources enable it to develop its
agriculture and its tourism. More than 10 billion investments are envisaged in these sectors for
the next years in Libya.
Since 1999, Robert Lanquar, Cordoba Horizontes CEO, coordinated
the Euro - Mediterranean Tourism Forums of FITUR. Each year, the highest persons in charge for tourism
of the Mediterranean countries or the international co-operation present their views on the situation
of tourism in this region. In 2009, it is expected that Algeria will focus the projectors of the 9º
euro-Mediterranean.
From January to June 2006, we were the facilitator between the
UNEP - the Program of United Nations for
the Environment and the professionals of tourism for the preparation of the Handbook for managing
environmental impacts in the deserts under the presidency of Mr. Cherif Rahmani, actual Algerian
Minister for Environment, Tourism and Country Planning . This guide was published in French,
English, Arabic and Spanish in several hundreds of thousands of specimens.
Since 1993, we are participating to the Euro-Mediterranean co-operation process within the framework of sustainable development. We organized or took part as a speaker in many of the Mediterranean conferences, meetings, seminars and workshops on the topics of the environment, development of agriculture and the agribusiness, sustainable development of tourism, transport and trade, fair use of water and energy.
Our publications in French, English, Spanish and Arabic on the development of tourism and the questions on environment and sustainable development of this sector grant us a recognized expertise in all North Africa.
On May 2008, Robert Lanquar was one of the facilitators of
the Second Conference of the Tourism Ministers in
the Dialogue 5 + 5
during the preparatory phase of the “Process of Barcelona: Union for the Mediterranean”. He took part
within the framework of the Foundation for the Mediterranean - IPEMED
in the elaboration of the Ministerial Declaration to establish the strategy of launching the
Union for the Mediterranean.
